It looks like Blu-Ray has won the battle with HD DVD over top media player, but HD DVD players continue to sell. This article can give you some insight if you are still on the fence about which media player to go with.
Both Blu-Ray & HD DVD provide a high def television experience.Unfortunately, these media players will not play the other's dics. How do you decide on the right player for you?

Format Features and Specs:
While both sides claim technical superiority in this format battle, the capabilities of the two different formats are not really all that different. The largest difference between the media types is disc capacity. A HD DVD double layer disc hols 30 GB, while a double Blu-Ray can hold 50 GB.This could mean that longer movies in full 1080p resolution could be fit on a Blu-ray disc than on an HD DVD, or that Blu-ray could be able to offer more extra features on discs. HD DVD and BL can both play older dvds as well as upconvert regular dvds to watch on an HDTV.
Your favorite video game platform may help in your decision. Blu-Ray technology is used on the Playstation 3, which plays BR discs, while the Xbox supports the HD DVD.
Upconverting DVD Players are another way to go. The Upconverting DVD Player is a resonably priced alternative to HD DVD or Blu-ray players. Upconverters use software to analyze the original 480p DVD video signal and interpolate the missing information to fill in the gaps and output a higher resolution version. The images are not going to be as good as those from the native 1080p HD signal coming from an HD DVD or a Blu-ray disc, but according to customer reviews on these items, many people think it's good enough and some claim they can't tell the difference.
Currently a Blu-Ray players are priced higher than HD DVD players and the movie discs are more expensive as well.
Conclusion:
Go with Blu-Ray for the chosen media format with a premium price. On the other hand, the HD DVD format may for you if you have a limited budget and a dvd collection. Either one goes well with a Wireless Home Theater System

HDTV-LCD or Plasma
Looking for a TV for your surround sound system, read on.
So what makes a flat screen HDTV? A flat screen tv, as the name implies, has a screen only a few inches thick. This is the beauty of this type of tv.With optional mounts, you can hang a flat screen on the wall. Which type of flat screen is best, LCD or Plasma?
LCD & Plasma Compared:
Plasma facts
The flourescent bulb is what gives the plasma tv life. A plasma screen is made up of cells containing a pair of glass panels seperated with a air space. The gaps have neon-xenon gas injected into them and sealed in plasma form.. This gas is charged electrically when the flat screen is in use. An image is created when the gas hits red, blue and green phosphors.
Because plasma TVs use the burning of phosphors to produce an image, they can suffer from the same drawbacks of traditional TVs, such as high heat generation and screen burn-in. Also, plasma TVs tend to be very expensive.
LCD 101:
A LCD screen is made of polarized, transparent glass panels which are adhered to each other.Liquid crystals are held to one of the panels with a polymer. When an electric current is passed through the crystals, images are created. An external light source is needed for LCD screens.
An LCD screen can be used for 40" TVs down to 15" monitors. (Although Sharp makes a magnificent 65-inch flat screen TV in its Aquos brand lineup.)

Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is one of the hottest toys this season.
Nintendo's Wii video game system (pronounced "we") brings people of all ages and video game experience together to play. This simple yet ground breaking idea is expressed not only though the system's evocative name, which is easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and suggests two players side by side, but also through its innovative list of features and extensive list of playable titles.
More than just a game machine, Wii also provides information and entertainment suitable for every member of the family. Some of the channels available include:
* Mii Channel - Miis are cute little caricatures you create to use as characters in a variety of Wii software. Store Miis on your Wii or load them onto your Wii Remote and take them over to a friend’s house to use on their Wii.
* Everybody Votes Channel * - The Everybody Votes Channel is packed with national and worldwide polls. Answer interesting questions and have your say. Up to six members of your family can vote. Just choose an answer and check in later to see the results.
* News Channel * - Wii might be great for games, but you can also use it to get updates on the latest news from across the Internet organized into easy-to-browse categories.
* Forecast Channel * - Your Wii can automatically update you on the weather from around the globe.
* Wii Shop Channel * - Download the Opera web browser and access games from classic consoles from the past. All you need is a Wii Points account.
* Virtual Console - Every Virtual Console game you download from the Wii Shop Channel appears in the Wii Menu as a separate Channel ready to select and play any time you like.
* Wii Message Board - Leave or receive messages for other family members on the calendar-based message board or use WiiConnect24 to send messages to people outside your home.
* Internet Channel * - Just download the Opera browser for 500 Wii Points and within minutes, you’ll be a professional sofa surfer, pointing-and-clicking your way around the web with your Wii Remote.
